What is an FTDI usb cable?
An FTDI USB cable is a special (NON original) USB cable which is needed to unlock certain Samsung models.
This cable emulates a SERIAL port and is used for Samsung models which have to be turned OFF for unlocking. Many modern computer (especially laptops) do not have SERIAL ports anymore and thus have to use an FTDI USB cable.
An FTDI USB cable is sometimes also called an 'Unlock cable' and is based on a chip (mostly FT232 IC) made by the company FTDI (FTDIchip.com)
